I am able to dial from my naval base in New orleans (area code 504) to a Virginia naval base# 757-322-6742 as a long distance call. I am not able to dial the Virginia number as a DSN (Defense switch network) example: The switch will not allow me to dial it as : 942626742 even though I am able to diao DSN to other naval bases like Mississippi. Can any one tell me why or what I need to do since it seems my switch is only restricting me from dialing the Virginia phone number DSN.

ars access code is used for public network calls
aar access code is used for private network calls

1st you need to know the trunk-group used to get to the DSN network.

list aar route xxx-xxx-xxxx for a good call to Mississippi

list ars route xxx-xxx-xxxx for public network call to Mississippi

change aar analysis for the calls to New Orleans and make it use the same route as calls to Mississippi
