We can not get the dial code *9 plus line number 801-808 to work for single line sets to dial out on a certian trunk. Magix 2.2 is in key mode with ETR sets and single line sets. Any ideas?
Thanks

you can add the trunks to dialout code under extensions, and then you could dial 801 or 802 or 803 to select a certain line, no need for the 9.

Did that work?

If not, consider this:

*9 is the PICKUP Code, and the only way you can pick up a SPECIFIC line that is NOT ON HOLD or RINGING, is to DEFINE THAT LINE as a PAGING PORT.

If that'll do it for you fine, otherwise, I'm not sure why you want to do this, so tell me more...

How about giving the extensions the POOL dial out code, and let them dial out on a specific SET of lines, instead of an INDIVIDUAL line. You con get creative with putting lines in pools and ARS settings if you truly need them to pick up just one specific line.

This customer is in the KEY mode and has 2 opx lines for an off site location, on the ETR sets we assinged a button , but on the single line sets we can not call out on the opx lines, 807 and 808. They had a partner system before that could dial intercom 8XX for any line. Do we have to go to a PBX / Hybred mode to accomplish this??
Thanks,

Back to my original idea.

You can assign up to 3 lines as paging ports.

So, assign 907 as Paging Port 1, and 808 as Paging port 2.

You could even (with a little effort) renumber the lines from 807 to 5 and from 808 to 6, DEPENDING ON YOUR DIAL PLAN. (You can massage it a little.)

The benefit would be that the end user could dial *95 and get 807.

The draw back is they are not RESTRICTED in anything they can dial.

Of course, MY FIRST CHOICE would be Hybred PBX Mode.

Using the paging ports looks as if it will work great and we will not have to re program for PBX mode.
Thanks,
TKOON
