Goofy situation. Call comes in via vectoring then user presses 5 which transfers to dial by name directory. The attendant is set up correctly, but we are tyring to not have a certain mailbox, 1234, be accessed by using the dial by name. We deleted the name on mailbox 1234 we put in the extension, we put a * then the name, we ran audits to no avail? Any Ideas?

IE. dial by name, user keys in smi, they get options for Joe Smith, Frank Smittle, Smithsonian Private mailbox. Which the Smitsonian Private mailbox has it keyed in as *Smithsonian Priv?

Please help?

I have successfully kept mailboxes out of the Audix "Dial by Name" by inserting numbers in front of the subscriber name.

For example, change the subscriber name from Smithsonian Private to 123 Smithsonian Private.

Susan,

Thank you, but I have tried that? Avaya Tier 2 said that you can put a * in front of the name with no spaces. Then you need to do an audix mailboxes? This didn't work? Am I missing something here? We started, stopped, rebooted, vmail with no results. What is being overlooked?

A non-alpha character, such as * will keep a STATION name out of the online directory. This is different than the Audix Dial-By-Name. If you change the Audix SUBSCRIBER name to 123 Smithsonian Private, it would not be found when the caller dials "SMI" because the first three characters are not SMI (764), they are 123.

The change should be immediate, we did not need to stop/start or reboot anything for this to take effect.

Are u using dial by name in the audix or in the PBX vectoring? If it is in the pbx, then that is where u have to change the name.

Dial by Name in the Intuity, which it uses the name from vmail correct? They come from a vector into the pbx, via transfering to 2222, which is the dial by name attd in the intuity.

Well the only other thing that I can think of is the mailbox is corrupt. Change the sub to another extension and save that, then make another sub with a one (1) in front of the name. ('One' is not used in the dial by name auto attdt)Then delete the original subscriber with the original extension. If that doesn't work, could u copy and paste the vector into the this forum? And what version of Intuity is it?

Also one thing to check. What happens when you press the option to reach Smithsonian Private? I have seen it when a name is recorded in the wrong mailbox. It may be another mailbox that it is listing. Try to leave a message and see if it lands in mailbox 1234.

Vmail,,,I am having the same exact problem. I have tried putting the "*" in front, putting the extension number in front, deleting the mailbox and rebuilding it, stopped services and restarted, shut down and restarted the intuity,,,none of it worked. I'm at a loss also. If you have been able to get yours corrected,,,I would love to hear what your solution was.

We found that we had corruption on the hardrive and had to remove the mailbox completely. We also had to shut down after deletion and power up then add the mb in again.

Thanks for all your help.
