Scenario: 2 steel plants, both have magix systems with PRI's and DID's. No tie or point-to-point connections.
Both Plants have a 3-digit dial plan, and 75 stations.
Plant A DID's 100-199
Plant B DID's 200-299

Want plant B to dial a 3-digit extension, 1xx, and route the call to the DID number at plant A.

I know you could do this with adjuncts and RCF them, but could this be done using UDP and telling it to use a pool and insert the digits to complete the call?

Yep, UDP is the way to do it ..

Test it very carefully, especially when dialing Ext. 110 through 119. I did the same recently, and found that the prepended digits ended up AFTER the extension number for this range, and was unable to create a range just for them.

In other words, your routing says add 5551 to the extension number to come up with 555-1110, it was outputting 110-5551 instead.

Worked perfectly for 100-109 and 120-199 (and 200-200 from the other site.)

Hello,
I have a customer that wants to set up a similar scenario. They want to be able to call or transfer calls to another location. They are getting a PRI.I assume UDP will need to be set up on both ends and am I right to assume that because they do not have a point to point that they will enter the 3 digit ext. number & the UDP will add an area code and prefix & whatever digits are needed to complete the call??
Thanks!

TTT,

Was the problem you experienced with the UDP and the 11x digits on a Legend or Magix and a particular version of firmware?
