diagnostic utilities..... 1

Hey all,

I'm looking for generic utilities for hdd diagnosis. I already have the Seagate SeaTools diagnostic utility, but I'm looking for one that I can use on any drive, if any such utility exists.

It would also be useful if it works as a boot disk, as the Seagate one does.

Should I keep looking, or go and get various manufacturer diagnostic utilities?

Ontrack's Data Advisor is quite good - and cheap

Sadly I know of no modern day equivalent to Norton Utilities or PC Tools. Anyone?
