Hi All,

I am having issues synching a 3300 with AMC.
I believe the customers firewall is at fault however I am finding it difficult to prove this.
I have tried carrying out ping tests fromt the RTC shell however I dont believe you can carry out ping test from the 3300? I am also thinking of just running the licence option from the software installer tool - does this override firewall options?

Does anyone have any other tips for diagnosing AMC synch issues?

Thanks

James

The controller attempts to communicate with AMC use a SSH type connection. Check with customer's Firewall administrator that they allow outgoing SSH connections (port 22 if I recall).

And also make sure you have a dns resolution IP address in the IP configuration form otherwise sync with AMC will fail toooo

cheers

thanks fot the response, customer has opened ports 443 80 and 22, there is a valid DNS ebtry programmed.

Is there anyway to prve this connection?

easiest way is to plug your pc into the port used by the controller and try to get to the internet. If you can't, the controller can't.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

you can ping from the 3300, telnet into port 2002 of the RTC address.

type:

ping "sync.mitel-amc.com" ,3

This will ping the mitel AMC 3 times.

Hope this helps.

I would always recommend using the PING command from ESM, rather than the shell. Through ESM, it guarantees that the subsequent vxworks command is properly formatted. Forget a quote or misplace a comma from the shell and you could lock up your system...

Ping via the ESM I think was only introduced in 4.0 plus. This is the only way to ping prior to this release.

Thanks all particulary Mitel100 - I wasnt sure whether you could ping from the RTC and what the format was - very useful.

Thanks again all
