I have diablo installed, and I usually run it as administrator.
I wanted to make it available for my son, so I copied the shortcut to the shared folder, also to the desktop, but when i run it as my son's account (a regular user, not admin), it says please insert cd-rom, over and over, even though it's in the computer.
If i right-click the shortcut (no matter where it is), and click run as administrator, it runs fine.
What permissions do I have to mess with to allow my son's user account to play the game w/o adding him to the Admin group, giving him too much authority.

you could possibly make your son a power user...

Start - right click "my computer" select manage
click on "local users and groups"
click "groups"
click "add"
add your sons account.

Try that out it might give him enough permissions to run it.

Also did you copy the shortcut from your profile to his? if so try to make a short cut to the .exe file when singed on as him...
