Hi,
I need some help, i have searched the internet, looked at group polices etc and can't find an answer to my question below

I don't want users to able to copy database files to their laptops as the laptops go out of the building. Is there anyway on a Windows 2003 server to disable copying certains files?

Can anyone help?

If you have the ability to read/open a file through Explorer or a share, you have the ability to copy it. If this is Access you're working with, you might want to ask this question in the Office forum. Access has built-in user security controls, but I think that's if you're using a front-end application or web interface. If people can see the mdb files directly, they can make copies of them.
