Di714P+ disconnects randomly and stops responding at all

Dear Experts,

I'm using a D-Link Di714P+ to connect 2 PCs via DSL to the internet. One of the PCs is private, the other connects to a corporate network using a so-called VRas connection. I have to enable a virtual server for IPSec to enable this connection to the corporate network.

This works fine for some minutes or hours, but at random intervals (already tested 2 different samples of the router), the router disconnects and also stops responding to requests completely (i.e. you even can't open the admin pages via the browser at 192.168.0.1 any more).

It only works again, if I disconnect the power supply of the router, reconnect and - necessary in most cases - reboot the router by changing some setting in the configuration. Only after this lengthy procedure, the router connects to the internet again.

Does anyone have a clue, how to solve this issue?

Thanks & regards,
Gerhard

Yes, the firmware is up-to-date (1.33b04). In the first router I got, it was even already 1.34 (which is not yet publically available).
Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Gerhard

Did you ever resolve this? I have tried 2 routers (with up to date firmware) and am experiencing the same thing. I have a Mac/PC wired/wireless network and it seems as though the router kicks the clients off since I can't log into it. Upon router reboot everything is ok for a fews hours sometimes a day or two and then it happens again.
