I have a question for anyone that can help. I setup a DI-604 router in one of my field offices due to the fact that it will allow multiple VPN clients. I tested this fact and it does work. Was able to do a VPN connection back to the home office with three computers with no problem. The problem is with Outlook 2000 and Exchange 5.5.

I can send/recieve messages through the VPN client with no problem but when I try to download the Offline address book, it starts but it then just hangs and goes no where. I have tried with and without an offline folder and gets same result.

When I dial out to the Internet and do a VPN connection then I have no problem with the download.

I am not sure if this is a VPN , Router, or Outlook problem so am putting it in here first to see if someone can help.

Thanks

Just an addition to the above. I looked at the logs on this router and found out it was showing a "Ping of Death" occuring from my firewall. When I tried to talk to tech support I was told to go to Google and look up "Ping of Death" for an explanation. When I tried to explain to him that it ONLY occurred when I did a VPN connection he said it sounds like some hacker had grabbed my connection. So if anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.

I have a D-Link di-614, I'm having the identical problem. I notice this message was posted in june. If you have resolved this problem. Please let me know.
Thanks

No I have not figured out the problem yet. I have talked to 3 yr olds that know more than the Tech support for this product. I did a firmware upgrade to see if that would help. Unfortunately not, instead all of my settings were reset back to factory default. All tech support said was to give me instructions on how to set it up again. As far as I could understand a firmware upgrade is supposed to reset everything to default.

I did read on one site that maybe if I opened IP ports 50 & 51 it might work. That is my next step when I can get to a DSL modem.

But even if I do get to work, will not use it for any of my offices. Lousy Tech support, resetting back defaults, not keeping up a correct date/time are some of the reasons.

If you have any luck, let me know.

Thanks
