I was wondering if anyone else has noted that hyperlinks to other reports don't seem to work when using the DHTML viewer. These hyperlinks work in ActiveX (the viewer the majority of users use) and the HTML viewer, just not the DHTML...

Not important for me to fix right away, was just wondering if anyone else had noted and/or fixed this problem.

Lisa,

I believe that you could embed your hyperlink as a string value in a formula field, instead of in a hyperlink. The key here is that the Text Interpretation on the Paragraph Tab must be set to 'None'. When you view the report in the DHTML viewer, you should see an active hyperlink.

Please note, this will only work with the DHTML viewer. The field will appear as a text string in the ActiveX or Java Viewers.

For reference, please check out my Image Test results in the following thread (you'll notice that the method is the same, which is why I think this will work for you): thread782-347810

It was your post that prompted me to post this. For now, when I get a "my links don't work" call, I just tell them to switch viewers. I guess I should point out that the link works... sort of. It just seems to be missing the "end" of the link, probably has something to do with items in quotes.

Is there any specific reason why your users need to be able to select their viewer? For the sake of consisitency and ease of support, my client has mandated that all onsite CE users must use the ActiveX Viewer, which is the most feature rich and works best with IE 5.5.SP1 (also the company standard).

I've gone into the settings.csp (settings_include.csp in CE 8.5) and removed the users' ability to select another viewer. Is this type of enforcement available at your site?

I am still on CE8 and with all the work arounds that I have done to deal with the problems caused by it running on a BDC it is ummmm.. easy to break. So I don't do anything that I don't have to within the server or the csp pages. Hopefully my new server will rise to the top of the capital list sometime soon.. until then.. if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
