Whenever I mouseover a DHTML menu in IE 4.0 and above the combo (<select>) boxes disappear from the page. Once I move off the menu the combo boxes then reappear.

Any ideas?

thanks.

This is a documented &quot;feature&quot; in the comboboxes. The problem (as far as I understand it) is that the comboboxes are containerless objects and can not be handled by the z-index property in IE. If you have used any code from Microsoft to replicate their menu's, you will find a function that specifically hides the combobox. Otherwise, the combobox should always be on top. The bug fix is to move the combo, or use a shorter menu.

You can see this behavior in action at and hover over the libraries option, the combo disappear's underneath.

I can't find the article but it's on the msdn somewhere....
hope this helps!
