I have a problem with DHCP, I have no more i.p addresses left, and i need to get some more. I can create a new range but that will have a differnt Net I.D. Help.<br><br>My I.P is 195.130.208.*, so how do i link a new range, perhaps i could use 195.130.210.* and link these to it. HELP.

you can do this if you change your subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 this would make your Local Lan 195.130.xxx.xxx<br>giving you from 195.130.1.1 thru 195.130.254.254 now I do need to tell you if this is just an address you cooked up and are not currently connected to the internet you should consider taking the opertunity now of correcting this very common error and use IP in the 10.xxx.xxx.xxx Class A<br>192.168.xxx.xxx Class C or 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.0 Class B these are network IP addresses that are set aside for private use I am sure the addresses you are using are in use by someone on the net unless of course unless they are assigned to you. <p>Steve Bowman<br><a href=mailto:steve.bowman@wayservices.com>steve.bowman@wayservices.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>
If you absolutely cannot change your IP address scheme (maybe for software reasons) try adding another IP addres to the DHCP server's NIC and just setting up a new scope. With the server being the clients' default gateway and routing automatically setup between the two subnets by the table on the server, this should be a fairly easy fix.

Do you actually have more clients than IP addresses or are the addresses not being used efficiently. Would reducing the lease duration be of any use?
