Ok another newbie here. I'm trying to setup a firebox III 700 as the DHCP server. I have the external IP setup.
The subnet is set as 192.168.1.0/24. The IP range I put in is 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.254. If I go to the client computer and do an ipconfig /renew I can watch the firebox send (dhcpd[104]: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.1.156 to 00:10:5a:d3:c4:1f via eth1), The mac address is to computer I'm trying to get the IP for. But for some reason I get an error on the client saying unable to contact your DHCP server. But if I connect to the main network (not with the firebox) I'm given an IP no problem.

Hello,

Have you checked both client and FB log files for more infos?? Can you get another client to successfully get an IP from the FB?

I've tried 5 different clients 3 different OS's. Have not gotten a client to get and IP. Don't see anything in the log files that tells me of errors for DHCP

Just to confirm, the private IP space 192.168.1.xxx is an associated network on the trusted interface?

The subnet set in the DHCP is 192.168.1.0/24 & the trusted IP is set to 192.168.1.1

I had exactly the same proble at a clients office recently, try putting the FB as your first dns server on the client machine, it worked for me.

Thank you all for your help. I'm not that network savey. So I was not sure what I was doing (Still not). To make a long story short it was the hub. It was reset. And now I'm getin somewhere with the FB. Thanks again
