from your desktop hold alt and double click "network neighbourhood" or right click and click properties. Then select the "Tcp/Ip" protocol for the adapter you want (the network card), then click properties. Select the "IP Adress" tab and check off. "Manually Specify Ip Adress" then put in the IP you want.
