DHCP won't authorize

Our small Lan has 8 PCS running Win2k or XPPro each has fixed IP. Currently running with no network or browsing problems.

I want to be able to connect Laptops with dynamic ip's as they could be used on home networks etc.

Installed a DHCP server role. Followed the Wizard and plotted out IP ranges and exclusions (for Network printers with fixed IPs)

On the Console tree I first click on DHCP - status says 'not connected". then click on SERVER has red dot - status "not authorized". Continuing to authorize - seems successful.(no errors)

SERVER still listed as status - "not authorised", however the option on the Action menu says "unauthorize". Selecting this seems to Unauthrize OK and the option then becomes "authorize" which again seems successful. But the Red dot and not authorized remains.

I havn't been able to resolve the listed errors in net diag under DNS test. I'm a bit hazy on this.
