I have the need to add a DHCP supescope to my LAN segment

original scope 192.1.1.1-192.1.1.254
new scope 192.1.2.1-192.1.2.254
mask 255.255.255.0

I created the superscope and DHCP server is serving up the new scopes addresses, but the clients on the new scope cannot find my PDC which is on the original scope.
What is the easiest way to make the PDC and all servers on the original scope visible to the new scope clients.
Thanks

Have you tried adding the Original scope to the supescope? or just adding the server ip address to the superscope? If those are not viable alternatives, you may just have to reserve an IP in the superscope and re-assign the servers IP addresses. I'm not sure of what other hardware/routers/switches are involved or if there is multiple subnetting, but the whole thing could be just as simple as a misconfiguration. Any further information you can provide would be helpful.

Good Luck,

Simply bind another IP address, that's within the new scope range, to the server NIC (multihomed). If you do so, don't forget to update this in your DNS server, if you're using one

WilWolitski has the right idea. Your 192.1.2.x clients can't see the 192.1.1.x clients because they are on different subnets. You need a router of some kind in place and configured before the two subnets can see and talk to each other. NT can be a router which is what WilW is talking about. Add a second IP to your servers NIC on the new subnet and enable IP Forwarding. I think it is less troublesome to add a second NIC rather than adding a second IP address to only one NIC.

Are you confused? Is there more we could help with or explain?

Good Luck,
G
