DHCP server still has 169.254.. address

hi,
got a dc running win2k server. i disabled the standard 10.0.0.1 dhcp scope that installs and created a new one 192... though i've also gave this server a set ip address, it still shows up in the dhcp mmc as 169.254..

i know that in the authorized dhcp server consol it lists 10.10.1.1 and 169.254..

how do i take care of this? shouldn't the address of my dhcp show up as the ip i set in its nic card properties?

169.254.x.x is from ms. This means your dhcp server is not passing out ip's. Is your dhcp server authorized in AD? Good luck. (Check ipconfig /all and see what you get.)

my computer IS passing out ip's. yes, i do have AD, dhcp, and dns hosting off of this machine. i have disabled the 10.0.0.1 scope that comes up in a normal install of win2k server. i replaced it with 192.168... also, when i run ipconfig on this server, it does list as the ip address that i gave it, not the 169.254...

Have you refreshed the dhcp console. It may just appear to be using 169.254.x.x, but it's really working correctly. Good luck.
