I have an Extreme where I am trying to implement a DHCP network. The issue is that my devices that originate the DHCP REQUEST do not have the DHCP Server's IP, so I have to enable DHCPRelay on my Extreme 5i. The problem is that when I send DHCP-Relay packets, the extreme picks them up and stuffs the source MAC address with the Extreme's MAC. I see all of my leases on the extreme, but b/c the destination MAC is the Extreme, they end there. I need a way to Enable BootpRelay so that I have the IP stuffed by the extreme, but I do not need the Extreme to check my DHCP packet stuff its own MAC into the Soruce MAC. Because of this, I cannot get the DHCP ACK. If the packets are oprdinary, then I lease just fine. But if they are DHCP-Relay packets, then the Extreme puts its MAC in and its killing me. Do you guys have any ideas on how to fix this?
I have
enable bootprelay
configur Bootprelay add 192.168.157.6
I have tried enabling and disabling the 3 dhcp-agent options to no avail. I have turned on and off all of them and still experience the same behavior.
Thanks,
