Hi,

I have a win2000 pc and one win98 pc. They are connteced to eachother with a hub.

In just a test base I putted both on get IP adress automaticaly. And ofcource becouse there is no dhcp server they both get some kind of local adress. No problem. but when I make the ip adress of the win2000 professional pc static (lets say 192.168.0.1) the win98 pc will get an ip adress in the same range. So the win2000 professional server will act as a dhcp server wich I do not understand becouse win2000 professional has no dhcp service running. It is only in win2000 server.

what is the cause of this?

best regards.

tank you,

ICS includes a DHCP server.
If ICS is active on the Win2k machine, and the base address of the ICS Host is 192.168.0.1, it will issue DHCP IPs to client workstations.
