Hi

I have resently replaced an NT 4.0 server with a new one with the exact same name (for obvious reasons). This server is BDC and it has it's own addressscope of IP-adresses to hand out.

Now here is the problem...the server which replaced the old one doesn't seem to know which IP-adresses are in use from the old server. The DHCP-database on the new server doesn't have sufficient info in it's database because it has replaced the old one.

How can I bring this up to date....and how is it possible to avoid this in future upgrades?

(I'm thinking that it might be possible to copy the dhcp-database - if you have the NT server started in a dosbox allowing this...I don't know if it is sufficient*??!)

Any comment are welcomed

Kind regards

Siv

you can go to each of the computer that have an ip address that that server needs to controll and have them release there ips and get new ones. nt4.0 at command ipconfig win9x start>run>winipcfg this will resolve your problem but if it is a large scale this may not be viable. hope this helps
