I'm running win2k3 server with DHCP enable, when users connect to our network in vpn, the dhcp server leases them the same address as the internal workstations.

It's supposed to check if the address is in use before giving it to another system...

Someone else has the same problem ?

Thanks

Are you sure that your VPN device is using your internal DHCP server to pull addresses from? If it is, it will usuallyh PRE-RESERVE those addresses in your DHCP and then assign them to VPN clients as needed.

It sounds like you set DHCP up on your VPN router using the same scope that your internal DHCP server is using, and the router/firewall is giving out the same addresses since you essentially have two overlapping DHCP pools running.
