Hello, this is my first post here, and have an issue with a cisco 2600. I have two sites, one HQ, and a satelitte office outsite of town. We are using a cisco 2600 to connect the sattelite office to the HQ. HQ IPs are 192.168.1.xxx and satelitte office is 192.168.2.xxx. Using SBS2003 for DHCP server. From time to time usually once a day or every other day we have connectivity issues in our satelitte office, they are not getting DHCP from the network, and getting local 169.254.xxx.xxx addresses.

After restarting the DHCP server service they have to reboot and and can connect. Is there anyone out there who has had this issue that can offer a solution? Much thanks in advance!

I'd check your lease duration in DHCP and increase it to 3-5 days. On the routers, make sure you have an "ip helper-address" pointing to your DHCP server.

You may also have general latency issues between your offices. Are you looking at Interface statistics on both routers to see if you're getting errors?
