Hello:

I have a DHCP server that have been running for several years. Nowadays, some PCs use dynamic IP can't access the Internet, but able to ping internally. Unless the IP is switched to a static IP, the computers cannot access the net. I have done all the windows update and it still does not work. I try switching back to dynamic IP, several PCs work but most of them don't. Any advice to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated

Whose DHCP server on which OS is talking to which client OS on what kind of network?
What can the clients do and not do with their network connectivity? Ping internal, external. Resolve DNS???

It's a win2k NAT/DHCP runs on win2k server. Clients runs win2k pro, win2k server and winxp. Some clients with dynamic IP can not get on internet but able to ping internally. Unless the IP address is switched to a static IP, the computers can't access the Internet. This morning, one computer has been switched to a static IP can not access Internet again unless we switched back to dynamic IP address or static IP address. We have done all windows update and it still happens sometimes. Please help, thanks

Are there pools of IPs that don't get the default gateway? I can believe that there was a pool that wasn't correctly configured. As time went on and your # of DHCP clients grew, you eventually got into those addresses.
