The Error:
Code:
The DHCP/BINL service on this computer running Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server has encountered another server on this network with IP Address, 192.168.55.1, belonging to the domain: .

My Goal:
My goal is to utilize Microsoft ADS to roll out Microsoft Windows 2003 on a lab server

My Environment:
All of my ADS services are running on the same Microsoft Windows 2003 Server (Controller Service, Image Distribution Service and Network Boot Services)
The DHCP server is running on a seperate machine running Microsoft Windows 2003 SBS.

I receive the DHCP error when i enable the following options required for Microsoft ADS:
DHCP Option 66 - TFTP server name
DHCP Option 67 - FTFP Bootfile name

I've done a considerable amount of research on this, and I've come to the conclusion that it's due to a BOOTP broadcast, which the DHCP server is interpreting as another DHCP server, causing the error.
Any suggestions on solving this problem would be great

If you need anymore details just let me know

Thanks!,

Dave

This configuration is not supported and not going to work. All Active Directory FSMO roles must be held by the Win2k3sbs server. Best practices say to also host the DHCP on the Win2k3sbs server (which you are already doing). The additional win2k3 server can only be used for "BDC" type purposes (although there is no such thing as a true BDC in Win2k3 networks.

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INPUT GUYS, YOU'VE BEEN GREAT!! :x

I've fixed it.
