I have a CISCO 801 ISDN router in the office.
Myself and another user connect from home using our Dell notebooks (Win2K SP3). Until recently, both have been using Xircom RealPort2 ISDN TAs. The other user's notebook is very stable and the configuration is rarely changed. My notebook is frequently having new software installed. I have also had a problem with my ISDN TA overheating. Consequently, I have changed to an external USB Eicon ISDN TA. Both notebooks have been connecting to the office network over ISDN for 2-3 years without problem. The environment uses static IP addresses and no DHCP (a mandatory requirement of the process control application that we use).
Recently, when I try to establish a remote connection, I get an "Error 735" - the requested address was rejected by the server. The connection then drops. The other user has no problems and can connect as usual.
My router configuration hasn't changed and my notebook has the IP address 'hard-coded' in its TCP/IP settings, so why does it now think it's trying to use DHCP? More to the point, how can I get it to use the static IP address and not drop the connection?
I've tried going back to using the Xircom TA, but I still get the same problem. I have also checked the TCP/IP settings of both notebooks and they were both the same.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary Cooper
