A log file that is being created and deleted DHCPTRAN.LOG and DHCPTRAN.BAK is causing the sys volume to run out of disk space. When I purge the sys volume it shows 200,000 or more DHCPTRAN.BAK files.

How do I find out which options dhcpsrvr is loaded with?

look at the autoexec.ncf

line should say dhcpsrvr

it may say something like dhcpsrvr -d3
or something

not sure if these switches were there with 5 - it's been years since i seen it

We are loading DHCPSRVR with no options.

is everything else healthy

i wouldnt expect many of these
there arent a great deal of tids in reference

There's a setting on the DNS/DHCP server that controls the logs. I dont' know if you can change the location, but you can stop it from logging at all. Do it in the DNS / DHCP Management console and click on your server object and click on the options tab.

You can also set the folder attributes of SYS:ETC to "Purge Immediate". This will prevent deleted files from stacking up in the salvage bucket.
