Our DHCP on our Windows 2000 DC server is leasing ip addresses to the DC server itself and the sql server thus not allowing the clients to get an ip address. Instead they get a 169.X... dummy ip and I have to go into the dhcp and delete those ip's assigned to the servers to get this temporarily fixed. Also some clients are getting double ip addresses assigned. The unique ID's for all of these are RAS.

You should destroy your scope and rebuild it with more addresses available, or turn off your Routing and Remote Access Service if you aren't providing dialup or VPN access.

Alternately, you could using the RAS admin to have it assign addresses to clients from a static pool outside the range you are using for DHCP, and it will stop grabbing 8 DHCP addresses at a time when the server starts up.

After doing this, let us know if there are still any doubles or if solving the RAS issue gets rid of those too.
