Hi,

My Bt voyager 200 router acts as DHCP server to 4 clients all obtain IP automatically from this.

Problem is have rebuilt a comp and when re connected to network it was assigned 192.168.1.8 however there are only 4 clients and the router is 192.168.1.1
have released and renewed ip on all clients yet the client in question keeps being issued with .8.
Have reset the router with no luck
How do i get my network back to using the range .1 to .5 ?

thanks

ok i have done that will see how it goes!

out of interest why was it issueing to higher IP when lower ones werent in use? ie there were only 2 of the 4 computers on the network switched on?

One of my home routers ALWAYS incremented the IP number each time it assigned a DHCP IP. It became a fun 'uptime' test to see how long I could keep it going up the subnet. It sure is not common, but it does happen.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
