I am have setup a Windows 2003 Server, and I want to setup DNS and DHCP on this server. I cant seem to get the DNS and DHCP setup correctly. I have a Linksys router and I go in there and disable the DHCP Server. I lose internet and cant seem to get everything working. Any help on this subject would be appreciated. Cant the router act like a gateway for the internet and have it all run off the server.

The DHCP service on the router is also doing a NAT service, translating from the unrouteable IPs that it sees on its internal interface to map to the external side. My guess is you need to define the internal network and the NAT translation. That way, when your DHCP server doles out ips the router knows those are to translated.

So if you look how to setup a static NAT, this will give you what you need to disable the DHCP on the router itself.
