my ip address seems to keep changing all the time. i have 3 pcs working under wireless cards via netgear router. but I see my 3 pcs ip address keep changing all the time. when i start up a any pc. is there a reason for this or is this the way it supposed to be. can i not assign my own static ip address to each pc exctra and by the way my isp is AOL any help on this as there wasn.t any so far on the last one

You are obviously impatient person ,you just posted this today . the answer is it is working the way it is supposed to , thats how dhcp works .
 
In the router, you can see the DHCP settings, perhaps it starts at 192.168.1.100 and goes for 100 addresses.

In this case an address under 100 or over 200 is available to be a static address. Do not choose static addresses in the range the router will assign.

Assuming Windows on the PCs, go to a PC with DHCP and Start, Programs, MSDOS Prompt or Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and type IPCONFIG /ALL | MORE and use the info to set up your static PCs.

(If you really never come back, I hope you get all the money you paid back.)
