I have DFS installed and have been using it successfully on directories on the network.
Now that I have the directories that I wanted listed in the DFS, I now want to set up replication on these directories to another server (Server B). I picked a folder to test the set process, and the replication to an off site server (Server B), this folder had one file and the staging folder in it. Both the staging and test folder are located on the server (Server A), and not on the C drive. I setup the replication with the primary server (Server A) and the offsite secondary server (Server B). The DFS Root for this is another server (Server C) on the network.
The replication worked fine. The files were on both servers / directory. I tested that by adding a new file to the folder and it replicated fine.
When I went back to Server A I saw that the free space on the C drive was dropping very quickly, it dropped to 0 bytes free in seconds. I quickly stopped the replication of my test folder and the size jumped back to where it was before the replication started.
I search for why DFS would write to the C drive for the test that I setup but I could not find any reference to what may be written to the Server A’s C drive.
Any help in pointing me in the correct direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thank in advance
John
