DFS Help

I decided to try and setup DFS on our network at work. I followed all of the steps in the book in creating the root and then the links. To check if everything is working I then checked the status of both the root and links Using the Check Status feature. all connections have the white circle with a green check mark. I even opened all connections using the open menu command from this tool to see if I could see all of the subfolders. Everything works fine from here.

While I am on the server I can go to Windows Explorer and click on the DFS shared folder and the DFS links show up underneath. But once I click on one of the linked folded I get access denied.

Also I tried to map a drive from a client machine to the DFS share. Once I open up the mapped drive the DFS links show up. When I try to open up one of the links the window opens but there is nothing showing.

The permissions are ok because I can open up these DFS links through other means, such as mapping a drive to the individual folders.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Make sure you've got the following permissions set:

NTFS: Everyone: Read & Execute, List Folder contents, Read

NTFS: Domain Computers: Read & Execute, List Folder contents, Read

Share: Everyone: Full Control
Share: Domain Computers: Read
