We have a DFS tree on a win 2k server which used to work, for all clients / 2k XP and old Nt4 sp 5 and sp 6a machine
nothing we are aware of has changed on the server however we are no longer able to resolve name queries against the DFS root for only the NT 4 clients.
At first we though it was a wins connection issue. we have tried resetting up the DFS root (it is in development currently) + adding static wins entries to no avail however if we remove the DNS server entries from the XP / 2k client we get our old friend error 53
Any ideas
