DFM E-mail notification configuration

I have the e-mail notifier configured and its working. I get about 150 emails a day. I want to get an e-mail notification only when a switch or router goes down. The current e-mails that Im getting don't seem to be to helpful. Is it possible to get an email "Router router_name ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx down at 12am"
Any suggestions ?
