i have a database on a disk called database.df with (what i think is) an index file called database.idx.... i have been told it was created in a SCO Unix environment. anyone have any idea what i am referring to? i need to convert it (through ODBC prefferbly) to access or SQL or something like that...any help would be greatly appreciated.

As you surmise, it's probably a database file, but it's difficult to pin down which database exactly. You could try:

strings database.df

to see whether there is any text within the file to give you an idea as to what package was used to create it. HTH.
