We are receiving an error message and then being knocked out of GP version 7.5. The message is Dexterity Runtime Execution Engine has encountered a problem and needs to close. After we get this, it knock us out but leaves us signed in. We only get this message when we are trying to print and it just started yesterday. It occurs on all workstations when they try and print. We have several network printers. However, we can go into the server and print them from the spool in there. We are running SQL 2000. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dawn

do you have a centralized reports dictionary?

if so it may be corrupt.. can you print unmodified reports by changing the reports path to your local machine?

and they wonder why they call it Great Pains!

We got it fixed. We had to rename the report.dic. file.

Thanks,
Dawn

Can I suggest not using a centralised reports.dic.

There are simple methods of automatically synchronising a reports.dic from a central update area to each workstation during login.

This means that each machine has its own reports.dic which is faster, causes less network traffic and is much less likely to be corrupted... while allowing customisations to be easily shared.

Dexterity Run-Time Error populating with Microsoft Dynamics 9.0 I have on my local machine a version of SQL Server 2000. As long as I am accessing the company data on the main server, I have no issues logging into GP and moving around from within the program, the minute I attempt to access a test company I set up on my local machine, I am able to log into GP, but once my company is selected, I am brought into GP and then I get the Dexterity Runtime error and am completely knocked out of GP. Like other users, It keeps my session logged in. I need this on my machine so I can set-up a test db to do things at my leisure.
