I have a standalone dex program I am upgrading from v8 to v10. It works fine on my dev box but when I try to run it on other workstations it complains "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

Do I need to use the installer folder to do this? If so, do I create a template? Is it writing to the registry now?

Where do I find documentation on this process? I get nothing out of TK. TIA

Version 10.0 works with a .Net wrapper now and so needs the .Net framework installed. Also, during the install it installs some Dexterity shared components.

Just copying the files is not enough anymore.

thanks, I figured as much. The stand alone guide says nothing about this, where is this process documented?

Is this the same with the chunked/ add on products? is there an installer program documented?

Thanks again. ***Brent***

I will do some research and get back to you.

Okay, I loaded the dotnet2.msi, and the DexterityCommonFiles.msi, then I copied all the dll's etc from my dex folder and it seemed to work. Man, there's got to be an easier way but it works so I'll stop complaining.

I'm assuming all that will exist for the GP workstations (as part of the GP install) when I load an addon chunk file? That process shouldn't have changed?

Thanks again.

Installing addon products (chunks) to GP has not changed, but there are a number of issues you will need to deal with for v10.

The security model has completely changed and you will need to create Security Activities, Tasks and Roles. Please see the Integration Guide for details.

I am working with the Dexterity Development team to make sure that the requirements for deploying a standalone application's runtime are documented.
