Loaded AIX 5.3 from scratch on model 7044-270. Will not load my integrated network card or secondary SCSI adapter. The command "cfgmgr" tells me I am missing devices.pci.ethernet; devices.pci.59127229; devices.pci.48110043; devices.pci.pciclass.020000

I have looked for these filesets on all of my CD's from AIX 5.3 and 4.3. I can't find them online either...

Any help here is really appreciated!!!

Regards,

Contact IBM support.

Thanks, however I do not have a support contract with IBM for AIX operating system support. That is why I thought someone here could point me in the right direction...

Could be if someone sends you the files, that would be a breach of their contract. IBM does have a T&M support option. If you need OS files, it might be time to look into the support contract.

I also have a 7044-270 with AIX 5.3 loaded (from a migration installation). I see no filesets with those names at all. My onboard ethernet adapters work just fine. Are you using an original set of AIX 5.3 media or something? Maybe you want to find a new copy of AIX 5.3 that includes ML03.

Well, I have a workaround in place. I purchased an IBM Gigabit PCI adapter and installed it today. I ran smit install and then typed in "devices" to load all the device drivers (I think that's what it does). At any rate, it asked for CD's 5,6,7 then completed. I then went into show devices/ communications and it has my gig adapter listed. I then went into quick tcpip setup and I am able to get to my network. I guess technically the onboard nic could be faulty but it does pass the RS diagnostic CD program... Anyway I am working with the gig card.
Thanks,
Bryan
