Device not ready error

When I go to shutdown my PC, I recieve an error that states "The device is not ready, check that the door isnt open..." or something to that effect. I cannot shut down unless I do a "hard" shutdown. The error gives me 3 options, cancel, try again, continue. Virus or error?

By the way, It says it's my drive A: which I dont even have connected.... it says to check that the door isnt open, well I dont even have a floppy..

Check you BIOS setting for the A drive, see if it has an option for reporting No Floppy for windows. If so change it to the opposite setting than it is currently on.
(Sorry about being a bit vague, not sitting at my pc, but a works laptop that never has a floppy)
