I have a user on a Win NT sorkstation that logs in to our Windows NT server and they get the following message;

Restoring Network Connections

-An error occurred while
reconnecting F: to \\server1\Hsys

! Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use.

__Do not try to restore the connection in the future,

This connection has not been restored.

OK ?

Once I pass through this the station gets network connection. Our login script - is where we have the connections mapped. SO i'm thinking that the workstation must now to connect and then tries to reconnect using the login script or vice versa.

This does this everytime she logs on . How can I fix this
"problem" Thanks

Sounds like he has a persistent network connection already mapped to the F: drive. You can check this in his "Network Neighborhood" and check for mappings marked "Reconnect at Logon".

Alternatively, put a "net use * \delete" command at the top of your logon script. This clears out any existing network mappings. Make sure you place it before your mapping statements.

Hope this helps... :) - Bill
