Device Monitor refresh issue

Question: Noticed an issue where the device monitor will not update the current drives status for a long time. Example: We have a 2 robots, ACSLS controlled, Netbackup 6.0 Mp4, Master server HP UX 11. When a tape is ejected from the robot thru ACSLS, netbackup takes forever! to update that the tape has been removed. Is there anyway to speed up the process, it seems like we didn't encounter this problem in 5.1? Has anyone else encountered something like this?
