last night I installed an new MCD release 6.0 and brought the existing database from a MCD that was dying. The new MCD with release 6 has a Teleworker server attached to it, the alarms I am getting are as follows for all the Teleworker sets:

An IP device, with DN 660, registered at CDP L2 MAC address Not Supported, CDP L2 Port Not Supported, CDP L2 IP

from my reading I was wondering if this has something to do with CESID entries, of which there are none.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Yes this would have to do with CESID.

If you are not using it, check the Enabled/disabled status in the Default CESID form.

Enable this option if you want the system to update CESID assignments automatically when a device is moved. When disabled, the system will clear any existing CESID Alarms. When enabled, the system will scan for IP devices with missing CESID and the ' CESID Updating' field set to Automatic. No server restart is required to commit changes. See Automatic CESID Updating Conditions.

thank you for your reply kwbMitel, I did check the form you mentions and it is set to L2 connectivity is CDP and enable automatic CESID updating is set to false.

Are you acutally having issues or just getting alarms you don't understand?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

there are no issues just a minor alarm stating this, it is a info alarm
