Multiple problems with my tape library. ATL L-500 14-slot library with Auto Changer and one DLT7000 drive (will hold three, only one installed).

Last Monday, I was unable to get the library to initialize. ArcServe Error log said clean the drive. Library was set to AutoClean, so I turned that feature off and did a manual cleaning from the Library's LCD interface. No change. Ran Configuration Manager in AS to have it detect the 14th slot (previously unseen to AS because of AutoClean). Worked fine. Ran a cleaning from ArcServe, but no change. Job Log still said Clean drive or Hardware Failure in the Job Log. Contact Warranty service and they replaced the drive. Pretty sure the 2nd drive was bad, so they put in another replacement.

Was able to backup/restore just fine...problem solved...or not.

The tape that I did my test backup/restore to became "stuck" in the drive. It would not eject and the library sat at "LIBRARY INIT" status indeffinately. Left it as is on Friday night and this morning, after monkeying with the cartridges and the magazines was ablr to get it to eject. Now, ArcServe says the Drive is Off-Line and Configuration Manager doesn't see the drive. It sees the ATL-L500 Library, but not the Quantum DLT7000 drive. Tried a FOURTH drive, but no good. I'm going to try a few more things (including re-installing AS SP2a). Any other ideas? I'm going to have the vendor replace the whole library next. Followed by the SCSI card in the server.
