Hi
I am a part time server admin for a small firm -- I had to update a program--PracticeMaster on their Win 2000 server which also houses their mail exchange MDaemon program--when I was updating it I noticed that some DLL files had to be ignored(at least thats what I chose from the options) after the upgrade install I rebooted checked the software and everything else to make sure we were ok--we were---well the next day the office manager who knows absolutely nothing about computers tried to reinstall a program called BestCase on top of itself--why I dont know--but I had to go in and point it to the correct directory for it to work and it did--now comes MDaemon--it wont launch at bootup and I have to physically go through win explorer and launch it manually and now it works but not by itself at start up--I get the subject line error for this post and it tells me to look at event log---do i have to reinstall or repoint it like I did for Best Case? Any tips or suggestions?

Are there any entries in your event logs (application or system) that are related to MDaemon? It could be that the information for service start has been corrupted/deleted. Check your logs and post any relavent info. MDaemon is normaly set to start as a service. Is the service set to start automaticaly?

another thing you may want to try is reinstalling mdaemon overtop of itself. backup the MDaemon\APP directory. Get the same version you have and reinstall. when the install is finished, copy the contents of the app directory you backed up back over original location and you should be good to go. (as long as the practicemaster program isn't inter related or using the same names for its drivers)
