I'm an AIX user interested in viewing the following data:

kernel parameters
Device info for diskette/tape/cdrom drives

Is there a Solaris equivalent command to the following AIX ones?

# lsdev
# lsattr

Thanks in advance

ranjit,

Solaris doesn't have a command that will give you such details as the lsdev lsattr will show.

In /dev/rmt, all the tape isntances can be seen
more /dev/rmt/*
In /dev/dsk, all the disk instances can be seen
more /dev/dsk/* (block devices)
more /dev/rdsk/* (raw disks)

format will show you all the disks

prtvtoc will show the details of each disk
prtvtoc /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s2
