Forgive me if this is a stupid question, I'm new to this product... I am working on a project plan and trying to determine the timeline for package creations consisting of basic MS Office applications and custom built VB applications. I have been told 4-6 weeks per app which seems quite long to me. Is this correct?

Since we don't have that much time before computers will need to be deployed, does anyone see an issue with imaging the machines for release and using SMS to push updates as necessary?

From my experience package development can take anywhere from a minute (MS patch) to a week (custom app). I'm sure there are situations where it might take longer, but that would be one complex, custom install.

That is what we do here - we'll image a machine, use the image for PC deployment, then use SMS to push any necessary updates/patches.

-If it ain't broke, break it and make it better.
