Developer Toolkit/ Format (for getting Client Data)

I am opening a new company in GP8. But before that I am to collect data from each and every user. Could anyone suggest a format with which I could collect new company process data.

I am to start with new GP installation.

The Developer Toolkit is only for versions 9 and 10.

You will also need to explain what data you want to collect and what your desired end result is?
