Developer cannot install on database

hi
i am using oracle Release 9.2.0.1.0 and i tried to install developer '9iDS' and i get a Dependencies error saying :

Oracle9iAScannot be installed into an existing Oracle9i
9.2.0.1.0 or higher Oracle home

Kindly advice i need to install developer here and i just don't get it what the problem might be... i think it is not because of the compatibility issue but some thing else... because i have seen people using developer6i with database 8 or 9.... pls help me

hi dear,
hav you tried it by creating a seperate oracle_home for developer. and then install the DB in that home.
seperate home for both.

This message means that you can not install iDS into the same directory with your database, because they use different versions of the same libraries. This doesn't mean that they can not work together Just choose a new directory and give it a name instead of selecting from the list of existing ones.

thank you guys... you have been of good help ... but i have another problem now.. i posted it again with the problem as the topic .... problem with listener.. kindly help me again.. i thought newer topic with the actually problem might help so gave it in a new thread.
