I have a MS Access database with columns of each contacts information like prefix, first name, last name, account, address 1, address 2, city, state, country, postal, phone, faxx, and email. I also created a bad email column which I set the filed type to a yes or no. I will be sending out chunks of these contacts emails, and some will bounce back. I would like to take the bb emails and put them into a table, and some how be able to have Access compare the original table to this new table. If it finds a record with an email match, put yes in the bad email column.

Could someone give me a way to do this or if someone has a better way to track bad emails.

Second, I would like to track within Access how many times a contact receives an email. How can I track this type of activity in Access. Could someone reply asap. I really need to solve these issues.

Thank you for helping out.

If you use Outlook for Email, you can link Outlook folders as Access tables. Then you can write queries matching the linked tables to your Access tables.

Before going into much detail, I'd like to know if Outlook is your Email program. If yes, which version of Access and Outlook are you running? Also, it would be helpful to know if you've had experience linking Outlook or Exchange folders in Access. Terry L. Broadbent

No I'm using an email application called Gammadyne. which allows me to link to acces. I'm using access 97

I'm not familiar with Gammadyne so probably can't be any help. Is there an ODBC driver for Gammadyne, similar to the Outlook/Exchange ODBC driver that allows the attachment of Outlook folders as Access tables? Terry L. Broadbent

I have two tables. One has all of the contact information including their email. Within this table I added a Bad email column, text type set too yes or no. I also have another table which are all the undeliverables that I get. I can I quickly check the one table to this new table, and if there is a match populate the Bad email column to yes.

I really need a solution to this issue. Thanks

All you should have to do is add both tables to the QBE grid. Link the e-mail address fields you want to match. make sure you use an inner joinm. The query will then only bring in matches. Then change the query to an update query. Update the yes/no field

How do you make a joinm within when making a query?

Sorry fat fingered the keys should read inner join. It is created when you link the two fields.

How do you link an outlook folder to access? I tried doing this for my undeliverable emails, but when I sent it to access, the body areas was in one column. I could not query within the column just the email address.
